wk ending 9th March 2018

The children have been busy learning about St Pirans Day this week. We dressed up on Monday in black and white and the children learnt about the Legend of how St Piran arrived in Cornwall. We have been painting Cornish flags on stones, making flags and using mud in the mud kitchen.
In maths the children have been naming, describing and sorting 2D and 3D shapes. The children enjoyed using play dough, blocks, pegs and sticks to make the shapes. We also drew repeating patterns with the shapes.
In PE the children have been practising their ball control. We rolled the ball to a partner and then threw it to each other and attempted to catch it! We thought about how to stand, what our eyes should be focusing on and how to hold our hands out.
It was great to see so many parents for world book day this afternoon. The children really enjoyed coming to school in pyjamas and getting a new book to read. We will arrange another time soon to perform our story to you as we ran out of time.
We hope you enjoy your Mothers day surprise. The children have been busy this week making them for you.
