We have been working hard to make Mother's Day cards for Sunday. We had daffodils to draw and then we used easels and pallets to paint them with water colours. We wrote inside our cards to say why our Mum's are so special. We watched a slideshow to help us with our ideas. We put a photo of ourselves inside. We have to hide them away until Sunday so we can give our Mum's a big surprise!
We had our re-arranged World Book Day today. We all came to school in our pyjamas and enjoyed a day of story telling and books. We brought in books to swap and we invited our parents in to share some stories too. We had hot chocolate with marshmallows and sprinkles. We enjoyed having our families in to share our World Book Day celebrations.
On Monday it was St. Piran's Day- the patron saint of Cornwall. We wore black and white into school to celebrate. We spent the day learning all about Cornish traditions. We heard the story of St. Piran and wrote about him.
We had the chance to make PASTIES! We wrote the instructions for the recipe and had a go at putting in all the ingredients. We crimped our own edges and then took them home to cook. Everyone said that the pasties were delicious. We added a secret ingredient to make them extra tasty...we put a bit of real butter inside. Try it, it really makes all the difference.
