St Columb Major Academy is now open for Keyworker and vulnerable children

wk ending 9th February 2018

What an exciting week we have had to finish this half term. The snow certainly made the beginning of our week interesting, as many of the children have never seen snow before. The children enjoyed playing in it, building tiny snow men and even catching the snow flakes in their mouths!
We had our Early Years assembly on Wednesday in front of the whole school! the children performed their Gingerbread Man story. They were amazing! Very loud and clear and their faces were full of joy. They were nervous before hand, but very proud when they had finished. We will perform it again on world book day so parents can enjoy it too.
In maths this week the children have been very busy making repeating patterns with colours and shapes. We counted the number of colours and how many times the pattern repeated.
In literacy the children ordered the instruction for making a gingerbread man and the then wrote words and sentences alongside to describe each step. The children are growing in confidence in writing and making really great progress.
In PE we had our last gymnastics lesson. The children used equipment to balance on various parts of their bodies and travel in a number of different and interesting ways.
Have a nice half term break!
