Sports and Games Practice.

We been  have outside in the brighter weather practising our athletics. This term we have a coach in to help us and the children have had the opportunity to try their skills on new and different events that include running, jumping and throwing.
The children have had the opportunity to practise their skills and set up their own events with the equipment. It has been exciting to see them challenging themselves and persevering to achieve a target, especially in jumping.
They have enjoyed making up their own games and testing each other, working out ways in which they can improve. They have worked well in teams to show and teach their skills to others.

We have been learning different poems this week. The poems are based on the senses. We have been trying to say them clearly and slowly using different expression. We thought about what it would be like to be blind and not able to see all the colours. We described the colours using similes and discussed which words we could use in our writing.

We drew feelings words in different colours; love was red and calm was blue. Lots of us had different ideas, Corey drew the word 'sick' and coloured it green, orange and yellow! Fantastic imaginations and descriptions were used for jealous, lonely and nervous.

See our teaching presentation below to see which poems we have been working on.
