Congratulations to our award winners this week for their wisdom and hard work.
We have had an exciting week with things starting to look a "lot like Christmas".
In literacy this week we have been planning and starting to write our own news reports on the natural disaster story we wrote this term. Some of the plans look very exciting and I can't wait to read what happens next in the reports.
In maths we have been working on some place value questions including number sequences (with missing numbers!), rounding numbers to the nearest 10, nearest 100 and nearest 1000, partitioning numbers and finding the difference between two numbers. We are now more confident with these topics.
Tuesday afternoon was our Parent's Afternoon, we all made a Christingle. We also had some great fun making cards, snowflakes, a wreath out of our hands and a paper chain. The paper chain was as long as our classroom!
On Friday we watched the Year 5 Dress Rehearsal which was very good. We especially liked some of the dances, including the flower dance and the angel dance.
I look forward to next week, we will be focusing on times tables in maths, completing our news reports in literacy as well as rehearsing for our Christmas Show. Our Show is on Thursday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
