Wk ending 6th October 2017

This week we have started our Read, Write, Inc lessons and the children have made an excellent start! Some parents have told me that the children are saying the sounds at home, which is fantastic. This week we have learnt m, a, s and d.
We have also begun our story telling lessons on 'The Three Little Pigs'. The children love this and are so engaged. They can often be heard retelling the story during independent learning time. They have taken part in many activities surrounding the story such as building houses out of junk modelling and playdough with various sticks, straw and bricks. They have used puppets to tell the story with their friends and made pig and wolf masks.
In maths we have been looking at numbers to 10, singing number songs and playing lots of number recognition games. A firm favourite outside is playing 'What's  the time Mr. Wolf?'.
Thank you to those parents that attended our open morning on Thursday, I hope it was informative for you and that you were able to see  what the children are learning about at  the minute. Remember if you have any questions to catch me after school or send me a message on Class Dojo. Equally you can make an appointment for a meeting if needed.
