Happy Summer Holiday - keep safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing children and families back to school on Thursday 5th September 2019

Wk ending 5.10.18

Congratulations to our award winners.
We have been working very hard this week on our story writing. We looked at how to describe a characters feelings through their actions and describing a setting to a story using our senses. We have been learning a text about a tin mine explosion, so on Monday we pretended there had been a small explosion within our classroom (as you can see from the pictures!). No child was harmed during the making of this.
The children found this very interesting, and having something real-life helped us all to describe how we were feeling.
In Maths we have been learning all about addition and subtraction, and how to check our answers are correct by using the inverse calculation. All have been working so hard.
We have had a lovely day creating our tin mine applique landscapes. I can't wait to see how amazing they will look once finished!
We have also been working hard on our song 'It's Harvest Time' for Harvest Festival on Monday afternoon at St Columb Major Church.
We will be working on our 6 times table next week.
I can't wait to read the introduction to your own disaster story's next week!
