In line with government guidance, from September we will be welcoming all registered pupils to our schools.

wk ending 25th May 2018

This week the children had their final lesson from our summer games coach. The children were able to apply all the throwing, catching and fielding skills they have learnt this half term. They were able to play a game of cricket using a tennis racket to bat the ball. It was very hot, but we had a lovely time!
In maths this week the children have been learning to count, double, half and share with numbers. We have used a variety of practical resources to support this. We shared, doubled and halved animals into fields, shared pocket money between twins and healthy food into lunchboxes. The children are recalling their double and half number facts well to support their reasoning and problem solving skills.
We made bread this week just like the hen in our class story. The children enjoyed kneading the dough - but found it hard work too!
As it was walk to school week, we talked a lot about staying healthy. We sorted food into green amber and red, thinking about treats and food that we can eat lots of. We also talked about other ways to stay healthy and together we wrote a huge list. The children thought about exercise, healthy diet, sleep, water, teeth brushing and washing. The children also wrote healthy shopping lists.
I hope you all have a lovely half term break and we look forward to next half term and our trip to the farm.
