In line with government guidance, from September we will be welcoming all registered pupils to our schools.

Wk ending 22nd September 2017

Thank you to all of you who came to support our KS1 Harvest Festival. It was lovely to see all the children in the church singing their hearts out with big smiles on their faces.

This week in Literacy we have focussed on making changes to the 'Supertato' story. We have added in our own villians and heroes and learnt how to use inverted commas when someone is speaking. See the video link where Mr Thorne explains how we are learning to use inverted commas.

Maths has focussed on ordering and comparing numbers. We learnt how to use the signs for greater than (>), less than (<) and equal to (=). We used the idea of a greedy alligator (gator) who always eats the biggest number to help us remember which way round the mathematical signs went. Have a look at the link below to see a catchy song which helps explain it.

PE was great fun as we were focussing on spacial awareness through a series of games.

Homework folders are handed in on Monday. Please make sure that you remind your child to do this as it gives us time to mark and prepare new spellings and resources.

As mentioned at the Parent Information meeting, if your child does not score 26 or above in the Quickfire 30 test they will stay on the level they have been given. If your child is struggling with times tables let me know and we can look at an alternative to Quickfire 30.
