St Columb Major Academy is now open for Keyworker and vulnerable children

Wk ending 22nd September

In Towan class this week, the children have been working very hard in all of their subject areas.  In maths we have been looking at place value and focusing on Roman Numerals and decimals.  In literacy, our class story of ‘The Lion and the Unicorn’ brought expression and creativity as the children acted out each paragraph to gain a thorough understanding of the story, the children have also gone on to to summarise the story in their own words.  In Science, we looked at materials where the children had to categorise different materials depending on their properties.  Our WW2 theme in history focused on Adolf Hitler, his power and influence over other countries and we created our own battle scenes in art to highlight events that occurred throughout the war.

We all enjoyed our wonderful Harvest Festival and the children seemed to really enjoy reading their prayer and poem to a captive audience.
