Wk ending 22nd June 2018

The children have been focusing on completing their transition work this week in Pentire. As the year 6 children will be visiting Treviglas and Tretherras school next Wednesday for their transition day, our class have working on a range of transition work and activities set by the secondary schools. Their maths transition work consisted of planning an adventure camp for themselves using a range of mathematical skills acquired across the year. I have been particularly impressed with the children’s writing this week. Our literacy transition work has been based on the book ‘around the world in 80 days’. We finished this unit by writing a letter persuading the main character (Phileas Fogg) to stay in India and witness the many amazing locations in the country. The children’s writing was amazing, showing just how far they have come this year with the content and presentation of their writing. In PE, we enjoyed a super game of handball; this was very popular with the children and a game we will surely play again in the future. Well done for another wonderful week Pentire!
