wk ending 19th January

The children have had a fantastic week. We have finished learning our Gingerbread man story and the children have practised with actions to help them remember the story. We will practice a little more and then I will add a video to the blog for you to see. The children have been busy drawing pictures of the gingerbread man and writing sentences in speech bubbles.  The writing across the whole class has really improved and the children are making super progress. We have split into new phonics groups and information has been sent home so you know what sounds to focus on to further support their learning.
In maths this week the children have been ordering numbers in teams. They worked very well together and had lots of discussions about number. We also looked at adding and taking away and what this looks like as a more formal calculation. The children used counters with a partner to work out the answers to these calculations. We have also been learning our double numbers to 10.
In PE we have continued with gymnastics. The children have been learning different types of rolls. They found the teddy bear roll particularly difficult!
Have a good weekend.
