Glendurgan Garden Visit
On Tuesday, the Year 4 children from Porthpean and Lusty Glaze Classes visited Glendurgan Garden as part of their topic learning on  comparisons between Cornwall and the Rainforests. Throughout the day the children got to explore the exotic valley, that is home to an abundance of flowers plants and trees from around the world. It was particularly pleasing to be able to get up close to the nature they have been learning about.  As well as getting to enjoy the sights and fragrant smells that permeated through the national trust grounds, the Year 4's also got to test their wits in the Victorian maze and work collaboratively on the challenging Giants Stride swing. Lunch was enjoyed sat on the beach at the south entrance overlooking the Helford river. Here the children had the chance to go rock pooling and stone skimming.  Despite the long journey to Mawnan Smith, the children really enjoyed the trip and now have some super drawings and stories to share from their day out. We now look forward to continuing our exciting topic in class!
