Happy Summer Holiday - keep safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing children and families back to school on Thursday 5th September 2019

Wk ending 14th September 2018

It has been an enjoyable first full week in Pentire as the children have continued to settle into the class routines and structure of the day. I have been super impressed with the positive attitude and perseverance shown by the children in Maths, English and Reading. Well done to all the children and I know we will achieve many more positive outcomes as the year progresses. As part of our Vikings and Anglo-Saxons topic, the children have been sketching landscape settings, objects and portraits from this period in history. Once the sketching was completed, the children painted their sketches using poster paint. It was great to see a range of brush strokes and painting techniques used by the children and their paintings will look amazing on display in our classroom.

Thank you to everyone who attended the welcome meeting on Monday. It was fantastic having the opportunity to introduce myself, share the progress the children have already made and explain the aims of the class for year 6. If you were unable to attend the meeting, please feel free to browse the meeting PowerPoint attached below with all of the key information for the upcoming academic year.

In addition, there is a curriculum newsletter attached below which gives a summary of what the children in Pentire class will be covering this Autumn term.
