Happy Summer Holiday - keep safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing children and families back to school on Thursday 5th September 2019

Wk ending 14.09.18

What a brilliant start to the term!  The children have settled in brilliantly to life in Key Stage 2.  It's always quite a big step from Year 2 to Year 3 but the children are managing with the new timetable very well.
They have been showing me their excellent knowledge of place value in maths and have challenged their brains and each other with a few place value maths games.
In literacy the children's focus is writing non-chronological reports.  We have been learning about the life of St Piran.  Quiz your child over the weekend to find out everything they have learnt about him!
In topic we have kicked off this terms theme of Cornwall.  In art the children are learning about the artist Dick Twinney and in history they are exploring how the stone age people lived.
The children took home their homework today.  They will need to complete 10 pieces of homework over the whole Autumn Term.  I look forward to seeing what they do!
Thank you to those of you who managed to make the welcome meeting.  Attached to this page is the powerpoint which I went through.  I have also attached the newsletter.
Have a lovely restful weekend.
