We have been learning about China this week alongside our new story Lin Yi's Lantern. The children have been dressing up in Chinese clothes and learning about real lanterns that the Chinese people use to celebrate the moon festival. We have painted pictures of the story and made a new classroom display to show our learning.
We have been learning about shapes in Maths this week. The children have drawn 2D and 3D shapes, learnt their names and discussed their features. We know that we have to build on a flat face of a shape. We cannot build with spheres. The children challenged themselves to make the tallest tower.
We have been learning about Rememberance Day and the meaning the poppy has when we are thinking about our fallen soldiers. We watched a film clip that shows how sad and frightening war can be. See the clip below. The children were so very respectful during the 2 minute silence. I was very proud of them.
