Week ending 7th December 2018

The start of this week began with much excitement for the count down to Christmas and our show!

We used our knowledge of instructions to write different instructions of our choosing. Some wrote about how to get ready for forest school, how to get ready for bed or how to get ready for father Christmas. In Maths we have explored measurements; time and money. The children worked hard to identify British coins, using the number on each to show its value. We also explored the face of a clock and how to read and make times; o'clock and half past using the hour and minute hands.

On Tuesday afternoon, Porthcothan welcomed parents to join us for festive activities. We made our christingles,  clay stars, created winter pictures and used a green screen  to place us in different places. It was wonderful to have so many parents joining us for our learning.
On Wednesday we enjoyed a lovely Christingle service, whereby we showcased our christingles and learnt more about what the objects represent.

We have been practicing incredibly hard for our Christmas show and can't wait for the dress rehearsal and real performance next week!

Our busy week was rounded off by the Christmas Fayre whereby there was the chance to meet father Christmas, enter the tombola, get our face painted and much more.
