IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS: St Columb Major ACE Academy are being inspected by Ofsted today - Tuesday 15th January.

Week Ending 7th December 2018

What a week! Busy but quite out of routine.

Monday was our first run-through for the Nativity. It went quite well. Thursday was our second & third and the children are getting to know where they need to be and when. And so are the staff.
So here's looking forward to next Wednesday at 2.30pm and showing it to you all.

Tuesday afternoon was when those parents who were able came in to make a Christingle and decorations. The children enjoyed it all so I hope the parents all did too.
The Christingle service on Wednesday afternoon was unfortunately rained off from the church but everyone managed very well in the hall instead.

In maths this week we have been looking at money, specifically things priced to 10p in our shop and buying 2 things. We have been counting out the correct amount for each item then adding them together by adding the two amounts together - counting on from the larger of the two amounts when we've been feeling particularly brave & full of wisdom! As a whole class we recorded these as number sentences.

It has also been quite a wet week - roll on some drier weather. But we have been outside and have played some PE games. On two separate occasions we have had a football out and the children have enjoyed having a different activity for a change.

Watergate are a class full of very kind children, willing to help where & when they can. See the example below.
