In line with government guidance, from September we will be welcoming all registered pupils to our schools.

Week ending 6th October 2017

This week in Fistral class we have been working on our sentence formation, ensuring that we have all the basics in place. We received a letter from Supertato asking for help catching the Evil Pea, it was very exciting. We wrote our replies in short, snappy sentences which contained only the important information that Supertato would need.
In Maths,  we focussed on fact families and using what we know about addition to write inverse subtraction sums. We used the part, part whole model to help us. Percy Parker has been helping us learn our times tables through catchy songs. See below for videos you can play at home.
In Science we are learning about how germs spread. You'll notice some bread hanging on the classroom wall, ask your child why it's there! We've also been testing our reflexes by dropping a ruler from a height and trying to catch it. It was great fun.
Thank you to all of you who were able to  attend our open morning. The children were delighted to have you in class and we hope you enjoyed the experience. Our next planned open afternoon is on Friday 1st December at 1.30pm. Our aim as a school is to have at least one open morning or afternoon each half term. Keep on eye on the school newsletter and our class blog for updates.
