Parent Open Afternoon has changed from Monday 1st July to Monday 8th July, this is due to Active Week

Week ending 5.10.18

Well done to Wilf and Ivy our Dojo award winners this week. Well done for all your hard work and perseverance.
This week we have been immersing ourselves in facts about nocturnal animals with the help of Steve Backshall's Deadly 60 series. We have been reading fact files and watching videos to learn lots of information about different animals with a particular focus on Bats! We used the explorers kits we made with Mrs Blown to find facts hidden around the class room and find missing words on our quiz sheets.
In Maths, we have been focussing on subtraction, taking tens numbers away from 2 digit numbers. We had a great session over at Forest School where we explored shapes and patterns.
In Science, we learnt all about Bandicoots and wrote facts about why they were suited to their environments. Next week we will be learning about food chains.
Swimming went really well again and all children are making awesome progress. Please can you remember to send your child to school with their hair tied back on swimming days.
On Monday we head down to the church for our Harvest Festival. If you are able to walk down with us, please meet us at the school reception at 1pm, if not we will see you down at the church at 1.30pm. Any donations of food are gratefully received. Donations will be taken to the local food bank this year.
Thanks to those of you who have volunteered to help on our Birds of Prey trip. I will be in touch on Monday via Dojo message to let you know all the arrangements.
