Week Ending 30.11.18

In Literacy the children have been writing Christmas poems. We have looked at the senses, word types and the things that make Christmas special for us.

In maths we have continued focusing on multiplication and division. This week we have learnt how to use the grid method for multiplication. The children have worked really hard and are making excellent progress with this method. This method wasn't around when I was at school; if anyone wants me to show them how it works so you can support at home feel free to ask.

In Science we have looked at shadows. There was an impromptu science lesson this afternoon when we had a beautiful rainbow appear.

We have also started rehearsing for our Christmas performance in earnest this week. The children have been learning The Night Before Christmas and some of the songs. On Thursday we spent some time making props for one of the songs.

I hope everyone has a great time at the lantern parade tonight. I am sorry I can't be with you I have to attend a Prize bingo with my son. I am sure the parade, at least, will be an entertaining event.

Have a great weekend.
