Week ending 2nd February 2018

This week we have been focusing on non fiction texts in Literacy. We have looked at the different features in fact files and next week we will be creating our own about animals. We have learnt why sub-headings are useful and how important it is to finish a sentence with a question mark.

In Maths we have been learning about fractions, in particular 1/2's, 1/4's and 1/3's. Through investigations we have discovered that 1/2 and 2/4 are equivalent. We have applied this knowledge to finding fractions of shapes and numbers. We even applied our understanding of fractions in RE, where we were learning about the Bible story 'Jesus feeds the 5000'.

Indoor PE on Tuesday was great fun as we learnt a variety of circus skills including the human conveyor belt, where we had to roll side by side in a group, with a person on top of us. It took lots of perseverance and hard work and everyone was ecstatic when they managed to complete the challenge.

All pupils should have brought home a Times Table Rock stars log on card. This will be really useful for them to learn their times table facts rapidly. If you cannot find the log on, let me know and I will send you it in a Dojo message.
