Week ending 29th September 2017

It's been another fun packed week in Fistral class.  Literacy has focussed on writing our own stories based on the Supertato model. The children have come up with some great ideas from Super Fish Fingers to Evil Ninjas! We have focussed heavily on using capital letters, full stops and expanded noun phrases.
In Maths we have been adding and subtracting. We used column addition and subtraction to help us answer the questions set. Quickfire 30 is going really well and many of us are really getting to grips with this new style of learning.
In Science we learnt about Alexander Graham Bell's invention, the telephone! We made string telephones and investigated whether the string needed to be tight or loose to send the message effectively.
In History,  we watched a dramatisation about Grace Darling's dramatic rescue. We thought carefully about how she might have felt and drew pictures to represent her terrifying experience. If you'd like to watch it with your child, please see the link below.
