Week ending 23rd November 2018

This week, we have been learning about imperative verbs which help to give instructions. We have learnt that to give instructions they must be put in the correct order and that they need to help with each step clearly. We followed a set of instructions and used the to identify the time connectives of when to each step.

In maths this week, we have been exploring subtraction and how the same numbers can relate to addition. We have been using fact families to show different ways of representing addition and subtraction. We have been challenged by the equals sign moving in maths stories and have discussed and worked hard to prove how we know something by proving the answer.

We have started practising our Christmas performance songs and are very excited to begin to learn lines and bring the show to life.

We were surprised with a visit from the Police this week who shared how they help people and they let us go in the Police van!

During Science, we have been learning about the weather and its link to the four seasons. We learnt about different ways in which weather is measured and decided to do our own investigation. Using rain catchers, we have placed them in four different locations around the school. We are completing daily weather reports and will collect the rain catchers in next Wednesday to discuss and record our findings of how much rainfall there has been. We will measure the rain using millilitres (ml).
