Week Ending 23rd November 2018

This week Mawgan Porth class have been exploring the seasonal weather in more detail. We have had a busy week of Science, learning all about the different weather that is typical to the four seasons. We have even set up our own experiment to monitor how much rainfall St Columb Major School will get over the course of a week. We walked around the school grounds and planned where we would like to put our rain catchers. Each day the children have completed an observational diagram to record the weather.

In Literacy we have been looking at Instructional Writing. We had a super fun lesson using bossy verbs (imperative verbs) to give instructions to our learning partner. The children were also fantastic at listening to instructions to draw a picture- they then wrote them up in their Literacy books using time connectives.

In Maths we have been using the part part whole model to find a part and look at addition and subtraction fact families.

We also had a surprise visit from the Police Officers!

It's been a busy and exciting week. We are looking forward to seeing what the rain catchers will tell us next week when we finish our Science experiment!
