Week ending 23.11.18

Well done to Ella and David for their DOJO certificates this  week.

This week we have been finishing our diary writing by planning our own diary as if we started the Great Fire of London. We have focused on the questions we would be asking ourselves, how we would be feeling and we have included lots of facts too.

To consolidate our learning in maths we have been continuing dividing by grouping then learning about commutative law which means that multiplication can be done in any order but division cannot - Rocket racers have been investigating this. We have also been doing investigations based around odd and even numbers for example what happens if you add two odd numbers together or times an odd and an even number? We finished off by having another go at inverse to gain confidence and then we did some maths mastery challenges too.

In history we have been building houses and St Paul's Cathedral ready to create our own Great Fire of London on Tuesday over the road. Please let me know if you will be joining us.

In science we have been investigating whether materials can have their shape changed. We have been doing this by selecting different objects and seeing if we can twist, squash, bend or stretch it.

We have been rehearsing our Christmas play which will be taking place on the 11th December at 2pm - please join us! Scripts have come home this week, please go through lines with your children so that they are confident and know where they need to speak.
