Week ending 22.09.17

Firstly well done to all the children for a great Harvest Festival and a special well done to Lydia and Jason (Fistral class) for their fantastic poem reading! Thank you for all of the donations for the Harvest Festival too.
Congratulations to Hayley and Oscar for their DOJO certificates in celebration assembly for perseverance.
The children had their first swimming lesson this week where they showed off what they could do to the swimming instructors so we could group them with children of similar ability to get the most out of their lessons. I must say I'm very impressed with all of the children when they were in the pool and they were super quick changing!
This in week in maths we have been ordering numbers up to 30, 50, 100 and some even went up to 200! Next week we'll be having a go at adding and subtracting within 100.
In literacy we have been changing the story of Supertato and beginning to write it to help get us ready for planning our own version next week. This week we've changed the character of the Evil Pea, we've had evil strawberries, pineapples, bananas, apples and all sorts!
We finished our week with Forest School with Mrs Small which the children very much enjoyed and whilst one half were out the other half made telephones with cups and string to see how sound travels!
If you have any cardboard tubes at home please send them in on Monday. Thank you
