Parent Open Afternoon has changed from Monday 1st July to Monday 8th July, this is due to Active Week

Week Ending 21st September 2018

The children have had a fantastic week and are now very settled into school life and daily routines. They are coming into class independently and happy. They are sat on the carpet ready for the register with very little fuss. You should be very proud of them. We even braved a whole school assembly this week! The children enjoyed the singing and sat beautifully to listen.
This week we have started our Read Write Inc phonics. The children have learnt the sounds m, a, s, d. We have learnt the sound and practiced writing the letter in their books. The children have been very focused on their learning for a full half an hour which is amazing at this time of year. In PE we have been practicing throwing and catching and how to get ourselves changed into our PE kits. The children really tried hard to get themselves dressed, even if it was a little tricky. Please can you help at home by encouraging children to dress on their own. I know as parents it is tempting to do it all for them, but practice really does make perfect. This includes supporting children to put their own coats on. Now winter is fast approaching, they really need to learn to put on their own coats.
The children have enjoyed playing outside in the wind with all the leaves that are falling from the trees. We collected lots and made repeating patterns with them. The children were able to continue a pattern that I started, for example, yellow, brown, yellow, brown.
Next week we will create some art for our Maths display and practice are pencil grip
