Week ending 19th January

This week in Towan the children have been continuing to work hard with their biography writing and have created a biography on a person of their choice.  They have been focusing on using rhetorical questions and ensuring that they are written in 3rd person and past tense.  They have also worked really well to include a variety of sentence openers, I am really looking forward to reading their finished work!
In Maths they have been working on using a formal written method of addition and subtraction and then applying the method to real life word problems. This has been a challenge that they have risen well to and we will continue a little more with it in the early part of next week.
In French they have enjoyed speaking and writing French greetings, some got up and shared their short conversations with the class.  It was lovely to see them approach the lesson with such enthusiasm!
Over the next couple of weeks the children will continue to focus on their Tudor explorer topic, continuing with their Art work and learning about Sir Francis Drake.
