Parent Open Afternoon has changed from Monday 1st July to Monday 8th July, this is due to Active Week

Week ending 18th October 2018

We have a fun filled week for our healthy active week.
The children enjoyed coming to school in their sports gear for the week and trying some new sports. We started the week by meeting a Paralympic athlete. Melisa inspired us with her stories of how she trains and competes with minimal eye sight. We got to hold her bronze medal and ask her lots of questions.
We had a yoga teacher in to teach the children all about yoga. The children listened carefully and enjoyed the different stretches and balances. They were certainly relaxed at the end of the session.
We also had a coach to teach us a new sport called Bottcha. The children had to use skill and coordination to bowl balls as close to a target ball as possible.
We also completed our dance story that we have been learning over the last couple of weeks. The children used their ribbons to help dramatize our dance. We will continue with some more dance skills after half term.
We had a visit from the dentist team 'Brighter Smiles.' The children learnt about how to look after their teeth and which foods to avoid.
We have also been learning about lots of ways to stay healthy. The children have learnt lots about brushing teeth, eating healthily, exercise, drinking plenty of water, hand washing, sleeping well and also thinking about mindfulness and staying healthy in our minds too.
Thank you to all the parents who came to our open afternoon, it was great to see so many of you there. The children enjoyed designing their healthy lunch boxes and painting healthy plates of food.
We finished the week with our Halloween disco. The children enjoyed the dancing and the sweets!
Have a lovely half term.
