week ending 17.11.17

Well done to Noah and Ray for their dojo certificates this week!
We've had lots more children join the 100 dojo club this week, if they haven't had their band today they will next week.
We have been learning about money in the maths this week, the children have been having a go at giving each other change after buying something and they have also been using coins to work out different ways of making various amounts.
To finish the week we have been learning how to tell the time. I've been so impressed at how quickly the children have picked it up. Jet setters and ready to rock were even telling time to the 5 minutes! We will have another go on Monday but please ask your children over the weekend what time it is - especially o'clock and half past the hour.
In literacy the children have been changing the story of 'How the World Began' to make it their own linked their worlds that they designed last week. There has been some fantastic language used and Ray, Lydia and Teo went to show Miss Cameron their fabulous work too.
Our worlds have been painted this week and are hanging up in the classroom ready for another coat of paint next week.
Nativity rehearsal is going well, we have been learning the first few songs and the children all have their lines. Please support them in learning their lines and they can also be looking a the words for songs 1, 2, 3 and 4.
We have also been exploring the school grounds looking for different types of material. We found all sorts including metal, rubber, plastic, stone and wood.
Following learning the names of the continents the children have been using ipads to research the different continents.
