Happy Summer Holiday - keep safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing children and families back to school on Thursday 5th September 2019

Week ending 15th June 2018

The whole class were awarded a special Dojo certificate in this weeks Dojo assembly due to their resilience, wisdom and perseverance before and during the phonics screening check.
Myself and Mrs Milsom were very proud to see their enthusiasm and knowledge of phonics shine.
Well done Porthcothan!!

This week in Porthcothan we have continued to learn about plastic pollution; we created fish and jellyfish using plastic rubbish, went on an investigation trip around the school grounds to tally the different types of materials that were rubbish (lots of plastic!) and learnt about how we can help to reuse, reduce, recycle.
Our literacy focus this week has been to consolidate and practise our knowledge of set 2 and set 3 sounds across different types of games.
In PE we moved on our own and in groups as different sea creatures and has the bouncy waves.
We were very impressed with Tyler's press ups- he was better than Miss Rowe-Best which he was very pleased about!
Forest school has been a huge success for Porthcothan so far, they have loved being in the outdoors and exploring what can be done with natural materials.
