Week Ending 14th September 2018

Mawgan Porth class have had a fantastic start to their first full week in Year 1. The children have been using their skills to solve missing number challenges in Maths and have been practicing counting to 20 and back again.

In Literacy we have been exploring the story of Supertato and using some amazing adjectives to describe him. We have been checking our sentences always start with a capital letter, have finger spaces and end with a full stop and have been applying our phonics sounds to our writing as well!

In Topic we have learnt about the life of Florence Nightingale and what she did to help us have safer hospitals.

On Thursday the children went onto the field to find the value of a number.

Thank you for showing really good listening skills and completing the task with so much enthusiasm Mawgan Porth!

The children have been enthusiastic about each day and have been persevering through their challenges to produce great work!

Please find attached letter formation chart with the Read Write Inc. rhymes which your child is familiar with to form each letter. Pleae refer to the letters by their name (a-ay) and then the sound it makes (a-ah) to help them recognise the names and the sounds for reading and writing.
