Happy Summer Holiday - keep safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing children and families back to school on Thursday 5th September 2019

Week ending 09.11.18

We have had a great week in Fistral class.
In literacy we have been learning about instructions and all the features to include, such as a title, a what you will need list, bullet points and numbered instructions. We wrote instructions about how to use a sparkler safely on bonfire night. We also created bonfire safety posters.
In maths we have been learning about multiplication. We practiced using equal groups, repeated addition and arrays in order to answer multiplication questions from the 2, 5, 10 and 3 times table.
In science we have been on a walk around the school and grounds looking for different materials and identifying how they are used. For example - plastic is used for chairs because it is strong.
Our first group attended forest school on Tuesday and they had a fantastic time despite the wind and rain.
On Friday we had a visit from Rocksteady music school, the children were shown how to play the drums, guitar, keyboard and microphone in order to play as a band. Some of the children were able to have a go on the instruments and took part in a small performance. They all really enjoyed it.
