We have started our long journey down Route 66 this week. The children have been learning about where this long road starts and finishes and the distance across the states. The class have studied maps and plotted the road to show the route it takes.
Over the coming weeks we will be studying all the different landmarks, small towns and large cities along the way. The children were surprised to see the variety of landscapes across the country.

The children enjoyed a workshop from a visiting musician this week. They had the opportunity to see how a rock band works and participate in learning different beats and rhythms.
It was interesting to learn how a band comes together to create the traditional rock sound and how the different instruments work. Some luck children had the chance to play the drums and an electric guitar!
We have begun to think about our Christmas Play this week. We have decided to do an adaptation of the Snow Queen story. All the children have been cast in different roles and will have either speaking parts or dances to learn. Some children will be taking on bigger roles with solo pieces or duets to learn. We are all excited to begin our rehearsals next week.
We will be performing on December 10th at 3.30pm.
Please send the children in with their scripts each day and get learning those lines!
