Spring 1 Week 2 - Curriculum Newsletter

We have had a busy first full week of the spring term. The children have been working exceptionally hard with their maths, grammar, spelling and reading lessons. We have been looking at coordinates and translation this week in maths with the children applying their knowledge to a range of problem solving challenges. Continuing with our persuasive writing, we have been writing new persuasive texts on why children should have an IPad each in school. There were a range of creative ideas in their persuasive writing. In RE this week, our class reflected on the lessons we can learn from well-known religious stories. We showed our understanding of this through drama. Have a look at the images of the children practicing their role play.

Please see the attached curriculum newsletter below. I hope this will give you a flavour of what the children will be learning this term across the curriculum. We have started to send home CGP books with practice questions as homework. We hope this will prepare the children for SAT’s with their learning while also allowing the children to get used to the questions and not feel daunted by it. Any questions regarding the homework, please ask so we can support your child. I hope you feel that your child is settled, happy and making good progress.
