Welcome back after what I hope was a relaxing Easter break!
We have had a busy first week back and enjoyed the sunshine at last.
In literacy this week we have been thinking about the story Hairy Maclary and the words that rhyme. The children made a list of the words that rhyme in the story and added other words to it. Next week we will think about using this and descriptions of the characters to write a class poem.
In maths this week we have been practising our counting, number ordering, sharing numbers and doubling and halving. We used apples to share between horses and the children are recalling their double number knowledge well. We used cubes to support our work with doubles and worked with a partner to record these as a number story.
We have been out side lots this week, working together to build dens and tents. We have been hanging numbered washing on the line, ordering numbers to 20.
We have been making 3D flowers for a spring display using a mix of materials and constructions techniques.
We are having a Summer games coach in next week so many of our PE lessons will now be outside on the field. I know the children are really looking forward to it.
