21st March 2017
World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), has been recognised here at St Columb Major Academy for the 3rd year running. It encourages pupils throughout the school to be involved in activities on WDSD to help raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how those with Down syndrome have an important role in our lives and communities, especially here at St Columb Major Academy.
Pupils wore lots of brightly coloured socks, even in their hair!!
We were delighted to welcome Mrs Kim Milnes-Barker into school to give a presentation to a group of pupils on down syndrome.
