e-Safety Day

During e-Safety day we learnt about the world of the internet, social media, gaming and how to keep ourselves safe when online. After studying a short video clip we discussed how different scenarios made us feel and what we should do if we feel uncomfortable about anything we see or experience online. Examples of positive and negative experiences led to us recognising that there is a common theme of communication and working together to ensure we have a safe approach to being online. We have created a jigsaw to demonstrate how we can work together to stay safe online. To finish our learning as a school we learnt an internet song about a gran who had a brand new computer and doesn't know what to do . . . . why not ask the children to sing it to you?
Open Afternoon

It was fantastic to welcome so many visitors into our classroom throughout the course of the afternoon. We had a fun afternoon exploring the book 'Norman the Slug with a Silly Shell'. We discussed feelings of Norman the slug, the snails and the birds before moving on to hot seating and interviewing characters from the story. We then wrote sequels to the story. We're not sure who had the most fun, our parents and grandparents or us!
Roman Topic Day

From Goddess to Gladiators, Lusty Glaze embraced the theme of Romans. During the day we learnt about what life was like for rich and poor Romans, Roman Soldiers and what they wore, where they lived and what life was like as a Roman Soldier. Roman Gods and Goddesses were also explored with great interest and enthusiasm. We finished our studies on Romans by looking at mosaics and then trying to create our own mosaics . . . . it's not as easy as it looks!
