Week ending 23.02.18

We have had a very busy week this week doing our practice SATs papers. Everyone has worked incredibly hard, well done!

Between our SATs we have been looking at measurement in maths, measuring different parts of ourselves and we found that our arm span is almost the same as our height! We have also been using the scales to weigh different objects from around the classroom.

In our literacy we have been having a go at ‘up levelling’ our sentences which means we improved them by adding the correct punctuation, adding adjectives to describe the noun and adding connecting words to expand our sentences.

We have been very arty this week looking at paintings by Monet. We started by colouring with pencil, then we moved on to sketching and painting a picture of Monet’s garden Lily pond. We did this by using our fingers to paint by dotting a bit like pointillism!
We have also been doing pointillism on the laptops this week re-creating pictures using dots.

Look at our photos to see what we have created.

March 1st is World Book Day and children are invited to come to school in their pyjamas with their teddy and also to being  a book to swap with someone. Parents are invited in from 2:30pm to share a story with their children and have some hot chocolate which the PTA will be selling.

March 5th St Pirans Day and children are invited to dress up in black, white and gold or Cornish tartan to represent our Cornish roots. We will be taking part in different Cornish activities throughout the day.
