I am so sorry that I have been unable to welcome the children back to school this week due to jury service, but I am pleased to say that I have completed my two weeks and will be back on Monday.
In my absence the children have been in the capable hands of Mrs Hardwick who has kept me updated with everything that has been happening.
A huge welcome to Ella May. I am looking forward to meeting you and hope you have enjoyed your first few days in our class.
This week we have been looking through some of the 2016 SAT's papers and identifying gaps in our learning or those areas that may need revision. The children have worked really hard and have impressed Mrs Hardwick with their knowledge and skills.
Our topic this half term is Pirates, please see the curriculum newsletter below which explains what we will be doing. This week the children have started work on Pirate Pete's lunch box problem. Thank you to those of you who have sent in boxes for us to use in the upcoming weeks of DT.
You will also see the video shown at our KS1 SAT's meeting that was held today (Friday 20th). Thank you to those who attended, we hope you found it informative. Mrs Dalton has examples of past papers if you would like to have a look at them.
Don't forget that PE is on Tuesdays and Thursdays - it is essential that your child has their kit in school as we will be going outside onto the field. Hopefully the sunny weather will stay with us and if this is the case, please send your child to school with a hat and water bottle.
