Week ending 23rd February 2018

We have had a great first week back after the half term break. This week we have gone through some  previous Reading and Maths SATS papers  in order to familiarise the children with the layout and question style. They have coped brilliantly and have worked their socks off each morning.
Our afternoons have been far more relaxed we started our new art topic 'Landscapes and Cityscapes'. We have looked at Monet's work and had a go at painting a landscape in a similar style to him. Our ICT unit this half term is 'Computer Art' and in our first lesson we had a go at pixel pointillism. It was great fun!
In PE, we have been creating dance with a dinosaur  theme. On Tuesday we channelled our inner Stegosaurus and worked out ways to travel around the hall in time to the music from Walking with Dinosaurs.
World Book Day is on Thursday 1st March and we are inviting you into school at 2.30pm to share a story with your child. This years theme is 'Bedtime Stories' and we will be coming into school in our pyjamas on that day.
