St Columb Major Academy aims to promote, among parents, carers &

children, a high level of awareness of the need for regular and prompt

All children are expected to arrive at school on time. Government guidelines require us to record absence and late arrivals. (National average attendance is 96%). It is very important that we demonstrate a commitment in ensuring good attendance.  Please ensure that we are provided with a valid reason for any absence or lateness.  All absences from school must be explained on the day by phone, or online at our website http://www.st-columb-major.cornwall.sch.uk/contact.

The school should be informed of all absences by 8.45am – the school will then authorise absences that are due to sickness.

The school registers are closed at 9.00am each morning.

Attend and Achieve!
If a school can improve attendance by 1%, they will see a 5-6% improvement in attainment.
